Scholarship Program

With the introduction of free primary education in 1994, it was decreed that Malawian children could attend primary school at no charge.  However, if a student qualifies to continue his or her studies at secondary school, they must pay to attend and often the fees are beyond reach for the people of this impoverished nation.

Believing that education is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty and disease that is plaguing this small African country, Taking Back Lives is establishing a scholarship fund to be awarded to deserving students.  Through our screening process, students who show promise for success in secondary school will be invited to apply.  Recommendations from teachers and community leaders will play an important role in the selection process, in addition to financial need.  Upon selection, students will receive school fees and other expenses associated with attending secondary school .  Each recipient will be carefully monitored by Taking Back Lives and our partners for updates regarding academic progress and achievement.
