Community Development

An important aspect of what Taking Back Lives hopes to accomplish in Malawi, is extending the opportunity for education beyond the children in the community.  It has been shown that literate adults are more apt to support their children’s education; however, many times the adult members are lacking the fundamental skills that are essential to building a life of self-sufficiency and reliance. 

Through the development and implementation of a Community Development Program, it is our long-range goal to provide villagers with a comprehensive, sequential curriculum covering reading, writing, and math skills, as well as addressing relevant topics to enhance their economic and personal well-being.
