Dear Friends,
On November 14th, I will be participating in the Taking Back Lives 2009 Walkathon at Siesta Key Beach. Taking Back Lives is a nonprofit organization founded by a local high school student in 2007, with the objective of providing educational opportunities for children in Malawi, Africa—one of the ten poorest countries in the world. The current goal of $40,000 is needed to construct a double classroom block in Malawi. As a youth-led organization, Taking Back Lives is enlisting the help of area students with the school-building project through involvement in the walkathon.
As a participant, I have taken the first step towards helping students halfway around the world receive an education, however, I need your help…
In order to take part in the walkathon, each participant is asked to raise a minimum pledge of $60. Will you consider supporting my efforts by sponsoring me for the walk? It’s easy—just go to www.takingbacklives.org and click on Donate to a Walker. You will then be directed to the homepage of the walkathon website where you will enter my name under Want to Donate? Once on my personal fundraising page, click on Sponsor Me Now and complete as directed. Or, if you’d rather, you can give the donation to me personally. Checks can be made out to Taking Back Lives and are 100% tax deductible.
Thank you for considering this request for your support. Any contribution would be most appreciated and will really help make a difference to children so desperately in need!
Sincerely,
